Taiwan-based doc producer and distributor The Classic Vision has sold a feature-length documentary about love and marriage to CCTV9 in China and is seeking broadcast partners for a spin-off series.

“Let’s Fall in Love” is a 90-minute film from director Wuna Wu and producer Ging Lee. It follows the work of matchmaker and relationship counsellor Hellen Chen and the couples who seek her help. Wu calls on her own painful past to help tell the stories of others. The doc film has been theatrically released in Taiwan to high acclaim.

CCTV9, the documentary channel from Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, will screen the film soon.

According to Wuna Wu, “CCTV9 love this film, because this film is humor and touching. As I know they welcome and love to see other area’s film which is not too heavy but meaningful.”

“We see this subject have big potential to success in TV. So we plan the new 13X47′ series TV project about marriage” add Wuna Wu.

The Classic Vision is in Budapest this week looking for other buyers for the feature film but also for a spin-off series from the film featuring Chen and directed by Wu. The 13×47’ series is in pre-production, focusing on a different troubled relationship in each episode and how Chen goes about fixing it.
