New territories for “the boxing girls of Kabul”

The National Film Board of Canada has announced a several sales for its documentary “The Boxing Girls of Kabul”, which is scheduled to screen at Hot Docs 2012. 

Deals have been signed in the US with VOD service In Demand, in French Canada with TV 5, in Latin America with the Pan Regional TV Direct TV and DLA, in Israel with DBS,  in France with France Televisions and in Russia with 24 Doc. The doc film will be also shown in Korea by KBS and in Japan by NHK.

The film was fully financed by the NFB, produced by Annette Clarke and directed by Ariel Nasr.

The doc looks at a group of young Afghan women who are aspiring boxers, and the tenacious coach encouraging them to pursue their dreams, to represent Afghanistan at the Olympics.
