U.S. pay-TV net HBO has unveiled its seven-week summer monday docs line-up, setting June and July dates for 7 titles including one about Asia: “The Tsunami & The Cherry Blossom”. The season kicks off on June 18.

Lucy Walker’s “The Tsunami & the Cherry Blossom” will premiere on July 16, looking at survivors of Japan’s March 2011 tsunami who find the courage to revive and rebuild as cherry blossom season begins. The film is an allegory about the transient nature of life and the healing power of Japan’s most beloved flower. It is directed by Lucy Walker (the Oscar(R)-nominated documentary feature “Waste Land”). The film recently nominated for a Documentary Short Oscar(R).
