In celebration of its 15th anniversary, the Asia-Europe Foundation is launching the first Asia-Europe Short Films Contest.

Young aspiring filmmakers and film enthusiasts from Asia and Europe are invited to express their views on the relations between both regions through their short (up to 3-minute films) of any type – animation, documentary, fiction, mobile phone video. Short films about Asia and Europe’s connections of the future, through culture, arts, environment, education or individual relationships will compete for international recognition.

Four winners will be selected by a Jury of renowned filmmakers, and one chosen by special online public voting, will receive valuable prizes.

All winners will be flown to Singapore for a two-day hands-on filmmaking workshop in a world-famous film school as well as two-day stay at a hotel. The first place winner will also receive a SGD5000 cash prize. These will be presented by Senior Emeritus Minister Goh Chok Tong, former Prime Minister of Singapore, during the Award Ceremony on May 17 in Singapore.

The deadline for short film entries is April 9.
