New BBC channels to be launched in Thailand and Taiwan

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW), the commercial arm of the UK broadcaster, is expanding the BBC brand and presence in Asia, with new channel launches in Taiwan and Thailand, and further expansion in Indonesia.

 

. In Thailand, the company will launch BBC Knowledge, BBC Entertainment, BBC Lifestyle and kids channel CBeebies this coming January.

. In Taiwan, BBC signed a deal with Chunghwa Telecom to launch BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle and BBC Entertainment on MOD, the company’s IPTV platform.

. In Indonesia, BBCWW is growing its reach with BBC Lifestyle now available on NexMedia, alongside BBC Knowledge and CBeebies which are already in that market.
