Europe Asia Documentary network / EADn is proud to partner with the Kerala International Film Festival / IFFK and the new Indian Documentary Foundation / IDF in a new initiative called triggerpitch.

The Indian Documentary Foundation has tied up with the Kerala Film Festival to organize a half daylong event for outreach of documentaries during this festival.

This pitching session is based on the goodpitch model of Brit Doc, a channel 4 Brit doc initiative and Sundance documentary film program which brings together filmmakers with NGOs, foundations, philanthropists, brands and media around leading social issues – to forge coalitions and campaigns that are good for all these partners, good for the films and good for society.

Decision makers from foundations, NGOs, advertising and digital agencies, social entrepreneurs and media organizations

This half day-long live event will bring together documentary films and organizations with social change and innovation at their heart.

The director/producer team will pitch their films projects in 7 minutes which will include a trailer, the path the film has traveled e.g. awards won and festivals it has been accepted to and associated outreach campaigns to a select group of influential people from various fields who will be able to expand their outreach campaigns. These would include foundations, NGOs, advertising and digital agencies, social entrepreneurs and media organizations with the aim of creating a unique coalition around each film to accelerate its impact and influence.

Connecting the Kerala documentary film festival to the International film festival would help the outreach of quality documentary films and help create a wider distribution network and larger audience awareness to the film. The spillover from and into both sectors would lend a catalyzing impetus that would prove to be of mutual benefit.

The invitees to the pitch and the facilitator would be decision makers of their respected organizations, high-ranking officials of the television and corporate world and socially conscious persona both from India and abroad and their commitment to the issue in the film would be instrumental for creating awareness, audience outreach and change.

6 Asian docs to be promoted during Kerala Film Festival

The organizers and partners of the Trigger Pitch will have to select SIX Asian films dealing with important social issues through a stringent process.

The criteria will be the relevance of the content in national and international context, the impact desired by the filmmaker, technical quality of the film.

. IDF and IFFK are selecting 4 films from India

. EADn will select 2 films from any other country in Asia.
