Fumio Narashima’s new responsibilities include securing rights to ensure cross-platform content availability, as well as the digitisation of NHK’s video archives.

He previously spent five years in charge of international coproductions, acquisitions, markets and festivals.

Narashima’s successor as head of international programme development is Kazumasa Iida.

In another personnel change, Yukihiko Amagi, the former exec VP of NHK Enterprises, has retired after a 30-year career as a documentary producer for the pubcaster. In 2003, he took charge of international sales at NHK’s business arm Media International Corporation, which merged with content production company NEP in 2010.

He will be replaced by NEP corporate officer Shigeru Aoki.
